One year of Smartlife Project

SmartLife project is finishing its first year. During 2017, different activities have been accomplished. Defining the requirements was the first, followed by game functionalities definition, intelligent garment, electronics, graphic environment, among others.

During the next months, efforts will focus on the narrative of the game, which is one of the key elements in the “exergame” to be successful among young people.

Maximising ICT4Life impact: new collaborations

The second year of ICT4Life is devoted to strengthening collaborations aimed at maximising the impact of the project results at the European and national level.

Since February 2017, ICT4Life obtained the support of several realities among policy making organisations, SMEs developing technologies in the health sector and a EU co-funded project.

Advancing integrated care together: new collaborations with Polycare & Connecare

In March and April 2017, ICT4Life built stronger connections with two European Projects active in the field of integrated care: Polycare and Connecare.

The three projects joined forces to reach their common objective: improving quality of life of patients affected by chronic conditions and their autonomy at home.



Meeting the Challenge of Ageing: “Putting the Citizens at the Heart of Integrated Care in Europe”

On 21 November 2017, ICT4life took part in this event in Glasgow to share its experience as regard the implementation of SCIROCCO methodology, as a tool to assess the integrated care maturity of the geographical areas interested by the pilots forecasted by the project.

The event was an opportunity to explore the potential of the tool to facilitate the partnerships and knowledge transfer in order to accelerate the journey of European regions towards integrated care.

Smart Indoor Event and Activity Recognition Workshop

On 29 August 2017, ICT4Life technical partners organised in Lecce (Italy) the SIEARW – Smart Indoor Event and Activity Recognition Workshop. 

The workshop has been organised in conjunction with IEEE AVSS 2017.

European Researchers' Night

On 29 September, ICT4life took part in the 2017 European Researchers’ Night in Madrid. The event is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) action.

Participants played with technologies and participated in a 2-hour workshop on Parkinson’s symptoms, thanks to which they could better understand through simulations the difficulties that patients face every day.

Consortium meeting in Greece: organising ICT4Life adaptation to end-users needs

On 4 and 5 April 2017, ICT4Life consortium met in Thessaloniki (Greece) at CERTH campus to coordinate partners’ work and review achievements and project results. ICT4Life partners agreed on the schedule for iterative testing to be performed with patients, health professionals and caregivers and discussed integration of ICT4Life different technical modules.

AAATE Congress 2017

The 2017 AAATE Congress is a 4-day event about Assistive Technologies that took place from 12 to 15 September 2017.

ICT4Life contributed to this event addressing the global challenge of meeting the needs of the increasing number of people who could benefit from Assistive Technology.

ICT4Life approach and contribution to the challenges of integrated care

On 19 January 2017, the ICT4Life Consortium hosted an event addressing “ICT4Life approach and contribution to the challenges of integrated care”. The event (on invitation only) took place in Brussels, at the European Hospital and Healthcare Federation (HOPE) central office.
